07 Jan The Essence of Human Connections
In the intricate tapestry of life, we encounter a myriad of souls on our journey. Some weave their way into our hearts, leaving indelible imprints, while others flit through like fleeting stars.
Some will become your friends for a while and others will stay for a few seasons before that relationship drys up like autumn leaves and others will be there for endless seasons they’ll start to feel like they will never leave, but one day you wake up and the long residency that they would have served as a part of your soul tribe would have come to an to end. These things happen and as hearts breaking as this might be, they come with the reality of meeting people along the way.
Some people will really become your forever humans. They’ll form a part of you as they breathe in your lungs and others will only accept an abbreviation of you. The part of your that is only expressed in sentence case and never in CAPS. The part of you that follows within the boundaries of acceptable societal norms.
But those who become your forever people will feel like sunshine. They’ll feel like a sanctuary for your heart and a resting place for your soul. They’ll carry you through the darkest moments and dance with you through the times when you don’t know whether you’re coming or going. They’ll just love you on purpose and they’ll be deliberate with their kind words. They’ll force you to speak in CAPS and to be the sull expression of yourself because they recognise that just like they you are only human. They’ll love you even on those days you don’t love yourself.
Invest your energy in those who care enough to be kind to you. In those who are intentional with their love for you. They are with every moment of thought and prayer that you spare for them. Your soul tribe is worth every moment spent drinking wine, while listening to good music, watching a series or just gossiping. In your loneliest moments or dark times, think of the beautiful times that you’ve spent with these souls and you’ll see what an incredible person you are because those you hold dear to your heart are an expression of who you are. They are the language that you speak, the brand of friend that you are to them.
So, in life you’ll come across a lot of people in your lifetime. Some will become your friends and others you will only have a relationship of goodbyes and well wishes with them and that will be the only relationship you have with them and that’s ok.
Your life will always be a series of moving souls coming in and out, cherish those that stay and bless the ones that fall along the way. We all deserve relationships that serve us. We all deserve two way conversations where all voices are heard and someone doesn’t give you that, it’s okay to call it time on that relationship.
“Once you meet your tribe, you will begin questioning why you ever put up with anything less than the nourishing and supportive energy that they provide.”
